Sweater Weather

The weather has been so wet and soggy, sweaters are really the only thing that offer comfort this time of year. Finding the right figure flattering sweater is a challenge, over-sized can look sloppy and chunky knit tends to be just completely unflattering. An additional challenge, is investing in items that are appropriate for the workplace and cute for the weekends as well. I have searched far and wide and found a few styles that I think are versatile and stylish.

Cropped Pullover

I love cropped sweaters to wear to work with high-waist skirts and trousers. The are feminine and cozy, without making you look like the Michelin Man. They are also great to wear with jeans on the weekends. This season I bought a few cropped sweaters at the Banana Republic, they have some awesome cable knits, that are such a nice staple and classic look.

Long Sweaters

I found my two favourite long sweaters from Nordstrom. The Chelsea turtleneck I actually bought in two colours because I like it so much. It is a nice thin fabric so it does not add too much bulk, it has a touch of cashmere to look expensive but not be too itchy and it can go from the workplace to the weekend. I like to pair mine with leggings or black fitted dress pants. I get compliments on it all the time.

My other Nordstrom favourite is the Debut Cowl Neck Sweater (which is on sale right now). It is a little bit bulkier, but the side slits make it flattering, It looks nice with jeans and leggings and it is super cozy.

Mock-Neck

Mock-necks is the love child of the turtleneck and the high-neck. I am a big fan because it reminds me of Audrey Hepburn, it is such a classic and clean look. A mock-neck with black pants or a mock-neck with jeans is both cozy and put together.

Dressing for winter is easy when you find great pieces that go nicely together. Keep warm this winter with these multifaceted pieces.
